West African Mask

The mask I chose has multiple colors. The colors are very "alive" and the combinations are perfect. They match and make a beautiful colorful mask. The face has closed eyes that are yellow. The nose looks a bit triangular and the face is smiling. You can also see the teeth. On top of the head, there is something like a hat that has stripes carved on the bottom in different colors. Green, white, yellow, light blue, and fuchsia. In the middle there is a long wooden thing that looks like a bird's beak and it's yellow. On one side of the beak there is a beautiful bird with red, blue and yellow colors. On the other side there's another bird with blue, green, red and yellow colors. On the back of each bird there is a twirly wooden thing that kind of forms a heart with white and turquoise colors. Under the head, where the neck is, there is a colorful "beard" made of colorful strings. The whole thing is made out of wood except the beard.

I chose this mask because it's very colorful and i love colors. I also chose it because it's very beautiful and the details are amazing.
This mask shoes that West African Culture and society were very artistic. They obviously made a lot masks and all of them had different designs. It shows that they liked to use and combine colors and make beautiful art. The West Africans were very talented people and they had their own style.
